Dr. James Flynn

James R. Flynn is professor emeritus at the University of Otago. His university awarded him an honorary doctorate and its Gold Medal for Distinguished Career Research. He has been profiled in Scientific American, named "Distinguished Contributor" by the International Society for Intelligence Research, and given a "TED" talk. The "Flynn effect" refers to his documentation of massive IQ gains from one generation to another. His books include What Is Intelligence? and Are We Getting Smarter?, which lay the foundation for a new theory of intelligence. In press, as a political and social scientist, he expresses his views on climate change.
