Kara Ayers, PhD, is the associate director and an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UC UCEDD). She obtained her PhD in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed her internship at Wright State University. Her dissertation research focused on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Kara is also a professor, a social media manager (https://www.facebook.com/UcUcedd), and an active advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. She has worked extensively on issues related to parenting with a disability and self-advocacy.
