Ms. Katie Rootes

Katie earned a MA in counseling psychology from Bethel University and a post-graduate certificate in marriage and family tTherapy from Bethel Seminary, both located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Currently, Katie is a first-year doctoral student in the Counseling and Family Therapy Department at Saint Louis University and is serving as assistant coordinator at the Center for Counseling and Family Therapy. Areas of research and clinical interest include development of sexuality in conservative family systems, dynamics of partner sexuality, "coming out" for LGBTQ youth and young adults, development of ethical practice for clinicians, and self-of-the therapist.
