Clifton R. Emery, an associate professor at the School of Social Welfare at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, has extensive experience with the study of domestic violence and child maltreatment, effects of adverse events on child behavior, and quantitative methods. He obtained his PhD, as well as master's degrees in social work and statistics, from the University of Chicago. His research interests include the causes of domestic violence, informal social control of domestic violence and child maltreatment, and methodological challenges in quantitative domestic violence research. Dr. Emery conducts research in the United States, China, and South Korea.
