Paul Kimmel promotes peace building and intercultural communication. He evaluated USAID International Training Programs, assessed VA Health Care for the Congress, examined training of diplomats as a Jennings Randolph Fellow at the US Institute of Peace, and chaired the APA Task Force assessing the psychological effects of the war on terrorism.

Paul was president of APA's Division of Peace Psychology (48) and of Psychologists for Social Responsibility. He is an APA Fellow. He served as APA Council Representative for Divisions 9 and 48 and first historian and public policy fellow of SPSSI.

He is a faculty member at Saybrook University.
