Dr. Ronda Dearing

Ronda L. Dearing was trained as a clinical psychologist and currently works as a senior research scientist at the Research Institute on Addictions, University at Buffalo. She has been an investigator on several NIH-funded alcohol-related grants, and she is co-author of three books, including Shame and Guilt (Tangney & Dearing, 2002), Alcohol Use Disorders (Maisto, Connors, & Dearing, 2007), and Shame in the Therapy Hour (Dearing & Tangney, Eds., 2011). Dr. Dearing's research interests and other publications focus on help-seeking for alcohol problems, treatment engagement and outcome, and issues related to shame and guilt.
