Dr. Danny Wedding
Danny Wedding was formerly the chair of Behavioral Science and Neuroscience, College of Medicine at the American University of Antigua. He has also served as associate dean for Management and International Programs, California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University, and prior to that, he was with the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine for 19 years as professor of psychiatry and director of the Missouri Institute of Mental Health (MIMH).
Dr. Wedding trained as a clinical psychologist at the University of Hawaii and spent a postdoctoral year studying clinical neuropsychology and behavioral medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He later completed two years of postdoctoral training working as a Health Policy Fellow and Science Policy Fellow for the U.S. Congress.
Danny's research interests include international health, mental health policy, the portrayal of mental illness and addictions in films, and large-scale community education projects designed to alter attitudes about mental illness and substance abuse. He now lives with his wife Karen in the Berkeley Hills.
